Karel Kleijn (1911-1937) had een korte maar vruchtbare loopbaan als reclamefotograaf en –ontwerper, tot zijn onverwachte overlijden op 26-jarige leeftijd. In zijn oeuvre zijn invloeden zichtbaar vanuit diverse richtingen, van het picturalisme tot de modernistische stroming de Nieuwe Fotografie.

Karel Kleijn (1911-1937) had a brief but productive career as an advertising photographer and designer, until his untimely death at the age of 26 years. His oeuvre shows many influences, most notably picturalism and the modernist movement the Nieuwe Fotografie (New Photography).
