The archive of Godard Arend Johannes Hazeu (1870 - 1929), advisor for Native and Arabic Affairs and professor of Javanese Language and Literature, contains documents relating to his work as Advisor of Native and Arabic Affairs and as Director of the Department of Education in Batavia. The documents mainly concern Islam in Indonesia and the rise of the nationalist movement in Indonesia.
