S. Hylkema OFM (1933-1998) was missionaris bij de Ngalum en de Ekagi op Nieuw-Guinea van 1961 tot 1994. Bij beide volken verrichtte hij ook etnografisch veldwerk. Het archief bevat ontwerpteksten van artikelen van Hylkema over de Ekagi, artikelen van Hylkema, geredigeerd en gepubliceerd door A. Ploeg en artikelen van A. Ploeg over Hylkema.

S. Hylkema OFM (1933-1998) was a missionary among de Ngalum and the Ekagi in New Guinea from 1961 to 1994. Among both peoples he performed ethnographic field work. The archive contains drafts of articles of Hylkema about the Ekagi, articles of Hylkema, which were edited and published by A. Ploeg and articles by Ploeg about Hylkema.

The archival deposits contain the administrative documents of the Chinese Council (the Kong Koan, 吧城公館) of Batavia (Jakarta). The Chinese Council of Batavia arose as a representative body of Chinese autonomy under Dutch authority in the second half of the seventeenth century. This council was responsible for handling minor criminal and civil lawsuits among the Chinese citizens, registration of marriages between Chinese subjects, and management of the Chinese cemeteries, schools and temples.
