In 1927 werd hij door de Nederlandse regering bovendien aangesteld om een reis naar Suriname te maken om de gouverneur te adviseren over houtaangelegenheden. Zijn archief bestaat uit stukken met betrekking tot de Verenigde Indisch Bosch-Exploitatie Maatschappijen en zijn bezoek aan Suriname.

J.P. Pfeiffer (1888-1947) worked as engineer for various timber companies, among which the United Indian Forest Exploitation Companies. In 1927 he was appointed to make a journey to Surinam to advise the governor about forest exploitation. His archive contains documents concerning the United Indian Forest Exploitation Companies and his visit to Surinam.
