Immediate Source of Acquisition
Shortly before moving from Amsterdam to the more quiet provincial town of Zelhem in 1961, Leendert Jurriaan Jordaan donated some 2300 drawings and prints to the Leiden Print Room. It was decided that his cartoons should be kept at a more appropriate museum and they were transferred in 1976 to the Atlas van Stolk in Rotterdam. Only the more artistic drawings were retained in Leiden.
No future additions are to be expected.
The material of this collection can be requested at the Special Collections Reading Room.
The drawings have been integrated into the general collections of drawings and prints and were given the inventory numbers PK-1961-T-9 to PK-1961-T-38.
