The collection of graphic art by Nico Bulder comprises nearly his complete output. Almost 700 book illustrations and more than 200 decorative designs document his career from beginning to end.

Biographical / Historical
Graphic artist Nico Bulder (1898-1964) is mostly known for his many book illustrations. His preferred medium was the wood engraving. Besides illustrating some 50 books, he produced a great number of bookplates and other decorative graphic art. Bulder was born and bred in Groningen, a province in the north of the Netherlands. Many of the books he illustrated are connected to northern mythology. All throughout his life Bulder would adhere to a figurative style that became somewhat old fashioned during his later life.
