Contains 21 items, mostly juridical manuscripts with Cunaeus’s annotations and contributions in the field of law and classical philology. The collection also includes correspondence of Cunaeus.

Dit archief bevat de administratieve documenten van de Chinese Raad (de Kong Koan, 吧城公館) in Batavia (Jakarta). De Chinese Raad van Batavia is in de tweede helft van de zeventiende eeuw ontstaan als orgaan van Chinees zelfbestuur onder Nederlands gezag. Deze raad was verantwoordelijk voor de behandeling van civiele rechtszaken en kleine strafzaken van Chinezen, de registratie van huwelijken tussen Chinezen en het beheer van Chinese begraafplaatsen, scholen en tempels.

The archival deposits contain the administrative documents of the Chinese Council (the Kong Koan, 吧城公館) of Batavia (Jakarta). The Chinese Council of Batavia arose as a representative body of Chinese autonomy under Dutch authority in the second half of the seventeenth century. This council was responsible for handling minor criminal and civil lawsuits among the Chinese citizens, registration of marriages between Chinese subjects, and management of the Chinese cemeteries, schools and temples.

Collectie bijeengebracht door Eduard Maurits Meijers (1880-1954), Leids hoogleraar Rechtsgeleerdheid (Nederlands burgerlijk recht, internationaal privaatrecht) 1910-1941, 1946-1950. De collectie bevat: ca. 3.300 gedrukte werken op het gebied van Romeins recht, kerkelijk recht en rechtsgeschiedenis; 61 juridische handschriften, waarvan 8 uit de middeleeuwen, de overige uit de 16-18e eeuw; ca. 4 meter wetenschappelijk archief.

The collection contains c. 3,300 printed books (on Roman Law, Canon Law and History of Law), 61 legal manuscripts (c. 8 of which are from the Middle Ages) and c. 4 meter archive.
